Haden Heritage Toaster Review

The Haden Heritage Toaster is a four slice retro-style toaster with a duck egg blue (turquoise) finish and chrome accents. It would suit a classic or retro kitchen. There's also a kettle available which matches the toaster in style. Even though the toaster's appearance is retro, its features are very much modern. Our favourite feature is the browning control with six choices.

The Heritage Toaster's other features include a defrost function to allow for the fast toasting of bread straight from frozen, reheat to restore the temperature, an anti-jam mechanism, self-centring guides to help provide an even brown, automatic switch off, and integrated cord storage. The features are as follows:

• Variable Browning Control - There are two browning dials which affect the shade and texture of the toast. The six options allow for light brown crispy toast all the way up to dark brown and crunchy toast.
• Defrost / Reheat / Cancel - "Defrost" takes in frozen slices of bread and thaws them without making them soggy. The bread can then be toasted as normal. "Reheat" heats up toast which has cooled down. "Cancel" stops the toasting cycle altogether.
• Self-Centring Guides - The internal guides automatically centre whatever is placed into them. This helps to provide an even brown.
• Removable Crumb Trays - Each pair of slots has a crumb tray underneath. The trays can be removed for emptying as and when needed.
• Cord Storage - The toaster has space to store left over cable underneath.
• Anti-Jam - The internal toasting mechanism is designed to not jam up.
