Haden Highclere Toaster Review

The Haden Highclere Toaster is a four slice stainless steel cream toaster. It has a simple design, taking inspiration from the British countryside. There's also a matching kettle available. It has numerous modern features. We particularly like the six browning control settings which offer much choice over the colour and texture of your toast.

Its other features include a defrost function, a reheat function, self-centring guides to provide an easy even brown, an anti-jam toasting mechanism, automatic shut off when your bread has finished toasting, a removable crumb tray, and integrated cord storage. We go into more detail soon.

In detail, the features are as follows:

• Browning Control - The browning timer can be adjusted through the use of a dial on the front of the toaster. Six settings are offered, producing light brown toast, golden brown toast, dark brown toast, etc.
• Defrost / Reheat / Cancel - "Defrost" quickly defrosts frozen slices of bread and prepares them ready for toasting. "Reheat" warms up toast which has cooled down. "Cancel" stops the toasting early. These buttons illuminate when active.
• Self-Centring Guides - The guides centre automatically so as to provide an even brown.
• Anti-Jam - The internal mechanism resists jamming.
• Automatic Shut Off - When finished, the toaster stops automatically.
• Removable Crumb Tray - There are two crumb trays underneath the toaster, one underneath each pair of slots. They can easily be removed for emptying.
• Cord Retainer - So as not to have extra electrical wire laying on your worktop, the toaster has in-built cord storage.
