Breville New York Toaster Review

The Breville New York Toaster is a sleek and stylish four slice toaster. Its exterior is white, although there is a gold band around the bottom and gold on the buttons, dials and levers. It also illuminates white around the bottom for added effect. The toaster draws its inspiration from New York, hence the name. There's also a matching kettle available.

In terms of features, the New York Toaster performs well. It has wide toasting slots which can be adjusted in width to fit larger items. It also has browning control so you can adjust the heat intensity. The toaster is equipped with a lift and look function which can give you a sneak peek at your toast. It also has a high lift so that you can remove smaller items without burning your fingers. We go into more detail later.

The features are as follows:

• Browning Control - The above image shows how the browning control affects the toast's colour. The browning control ranges from barely toasted bread, to more of a golden brown, all the way up to dark brown. Note that the toast is evenly browned. There are two browning control dials, one for each side.
• Lift & Look - You can easily lift the toast up for a sneak peek without stopping the toasting cycle.
• High Lift - When it comes to removing smaller items from the toaster, they can be lifted up high enough so that you won't burn your fingers.
• Adjustable Width Slots - The width of the toasting slots can be increased (or decreased) to fit larger or smaller items such as crumpets and bagels.
• Defrost / Reheat / Cancel - "Defrost" will toast completely frozen bread as if it were already defrosted. "Reheat" will warm your toast back up again, without starting a new toasting cycle. "Cancel" stops the toasting cycle early. There's a set of these controls for each side.
• Removable Crumb Tray - There's a removable crumb tray under each pair of slots.
