Breville Flow Toaster Review

The Breville Flow Toaster is a modern four slice toaster. It has a high gloss finish and is available in four colours - Black, Grey, Mushroom Cream and White & Gold. All four colour schemes have elements of chrome mixed in, and the White & Gold edition has gold coloured toasting levers and a gold band around the bottom (pictured below).

The Flow Toaster is strong on features too. It has nine browning options. It also has variable width slots for different shaped items and a high lift to easily remove these items. It has a sneak peek Lift & Look mechanism to allow you to check on your toast without stopping the toasting cycle. It's also equipped with a defrost function, a reheat button and removable crumb trays.

We now look at the features in detail:

• Browning Control - The toaster has nine browning settings which is a lot considering toasters usually have six or seven options. You get full control over the shade and consistency of your toast - pale brown, golden brown, dark brown, crispy, crunchy, etc.
• Defrost / Reheat / Cancel - There are these usual buttons. "Defrost" takes frozen bread and turns it into ambient bread ready for toasting. You can therefore achieve toast from frozen bread in only a couple of steps. "Reheat" warms up toast which has cooled down. "Cancel" stops the toaster mid cycle.
• Variable Width Slots - The toasting slots are adjustable in width. This allows you to toast larger items such as crumpets, bagels or tea cakes.
• High Lift - To easily remove smaller and differently shaped items, the toasting levers are capable of a high lift.
• Lift & Look - If you're curious as to how your toast is doing, you can lift up the toasting lever without stopping the cycle.
• Removable Crumb Tray - The toaster comes with two crumb trays. They can easily be removed for emptying and cleaning as and when needed.
• Non-Slip Base - The base is non-slip.
• Cord Storage - Excess wire can be stored underneath the toaster.
