De'Longhi Argento Flora Toaster Review

The De'Longhi Flora Toaster is a four slice toaster with a retro theme, designed by the Italian brand De'Longhi. It comes with an agave blue finish with paint that doesn't show up fingerprints, and chrome accents for extra style. The toasting lever, dials and buttons all have a retro feel to them, and help to make the design as elegant as it is.

Despite its retro style, the toaster is very much modern in functionality. It has two browning dials (one for each side), a reheat function, a defrost button, a cancel button, extra wide slots which can be adjusted, an extra high lift for smaller items, a removable crumb tray and cool touch housing. De'Longhi were founded in 1902. They sell kitchen appliances with their usual distinctive Italian design. Their range includes kettles, toasters, coffee grinders, coffee machines and cookers. They're a popular brand in the UK, and have a strong reputation.

Specification

We now look at the specification:

• Variable Browning - There are six levels of browning, displayed on a retro gauge above the dial. Toast varies from light and crispy to dark and crunchy. There are plenty of intermediate options also.
• Defrost / Reheat / Cancel - "Defrost" will toast bread straight from the freezer without making it soggy. "Reheat" will provide a quick blast of heat without toasting from scratch. "Cancel" will stop the toasting mid cycle.
• 2 Slot Operation - The toaster is capable of toasting on only two slots, which results in saved energy.
• Adjustable Width Slots - The slots can be adjusted in width. This allows for thinner toast, or larger items such as bagels, crumpets, etc.
• High Lift - To allow for the easy removal of smaller items, the toaster is capable of a high lift.
• Cool Touch - The outside of the toaster will remain cool to the touch, due to the design of the housing.
• Removable Crumb Tray - There's a removable crumb tray underneath of the toaster for an easy clean up.
